DIRECTOR'S STATEMENT

TEMPEST is about so many things. It’s a meditation on loss and second chances. Shared

grief and joint redemption. The price of an artistic life.

But mostly it’s about love - unconditional love.

I have always been attracted to heartfelt stories like this one. I love exploring what it’s like

to be human, to see the world through our characters’ eyes. And TEMPEST has the unique

point of view of showing us two worlds, two lives, through the eyes of essentially the same

person, though forever changed by a single event.

TEMPEST is a film that makes me cry every time I watch it, but for different reasons and

in different places each time. I sad-cry, I joyful-cry, and sometimes I cry tears of laughter.

It is truly the most surprising, fulfilling, and thought-provoking film I’ve ever directed.
